| Hey you guys,
I want to cover a few things.
i love to review series. I know I don't update that often. I update when I can. (next upcoming is Guu! I'm on episode 16 now.)
I'm just a college student who's going to graduate soon and watch anime
when I'm stressed out. I read manga way more than watching anime. I
should review mangas, really...
(smirks)
I'm majoring in illustration. I'm still working on this damn manga I'm
trying to create. However, I do have an artworks blog for you guys to ew or gasp
at :
pamela
enjoy. i would love your feedbacks.
and last thing, which is the bad part...
some of you already saw the animated gif I made in previous entry. I
decide to delete it, after realizing people stole it and put it on
their own sites. Jeez, really - at least upload it to your own server.
I know it's so 'awesome that i had to steal it", but it's MY server you're using. so there!

Mezzo - TV seriesEpisode 1-13
Not to confuse this with the movie version, this one is hentai-free and it's cute. But,
if you're me, you're gonna to be very disappointed. I had high
expectations out of this series.
The movie version, the animation and the fighting scenes was magnificent, the
best. I loved it (--ignoring the unnecessary hentai scenes, okay?
ha).
So, when I watched the first episode of Mezzo the TV series, I
shrieked with delight. The fighting scenes was again, the best. Here's a spiffy animated gif for you to gawk at.
(delete the animated gif)
Done
gawking at it? That's pretty much the 20% of the GOOD fighting scenes
you're going to get to see. And that's only in the first 10 minutes.
Hence, within the first 10 minutes, it went downhill. The plot? Nowhere until in the last episode, it was finally exciting only because I was waiting for it to finish.
Still, okay, I'm gonna to be honest. is the ending good? No. It was so
snip-snip, a predictable ending. Yawns. They COULD have done better
with the plot-- they had the good characters and there are situations
where they could create the most interesting conflicts for the ending.
Hell, that Phantom episode was farther interesting. I also liked the
episode with Mummy. But the closing, com'on! It could have been better.
-_- Fighting scenes improved a bit weenie in the end, too.
Now, I
know I'm badmouthing this series. The only reason why I didn't like it
because I had soooo high expectations.
On the other side, there's funny moments. I cringed when I see Pops
wearing that tight-to-the-skin pink outfit. Omg, what was scary is how
Spikehead didn't say anything about that scenario. I
laughed when Mikura called the Mummy a piece of 'beefy'. I clapped when
that little girl finally stood up to those stupid bullies.
So, don't have high expectations like I did and go watch it.
It's a cute series, after all. :D

Paradise Kiss Episode 1-6(+)
What a beautiful series, althought I'm only on episode 6 (so
far). My heart beats for George and Yukari, their relationship are
amazing. Comparing the manga to anime, I must say both are unique in
their own ways. The drawings are different. The manga's artist is
absolutely magnificent, even thought at first the skinny proportions bothered me a bit... but eventually, i fell in love with the manga. So
my heart shrunk and I choked a bit when i heard there's going to be a
series on it. Of course, my first thought was it might be awful (think Peach Girl, sheesh). But then I saw the icons and the main website.
It HAS to be good, I wailed hopelessly. I looked at the character designs,
realizing my favorite (probably everyone's fave) Arashi.... didn't....
look.... that...... hot (compared to manga). After watching the trailer, I was disappointed.
I
finally watched the series. Am I glad it turned out great. Arashi still
looks strange. But, wow, it was beautiful. The main thing about
Paradise Kiss is fashion. I do sew myself.
So I'll always be fond of fashion and understand the passion behind it.

Animation
was nicely drawn. The plot was moving along well with the help of
voice-over of Yukari. Characters are likable, but when I think about
viewers who may watch it without knowledge of the manga version...
maybe not much was shown out of the characters? For myself, I need more
dosage on Miwako and Arashi's relationship (but in manga, it'll be
explored so I'm waiting for that ep).

I
admit the damn flowers grew on me, rollin over the screen to cue from
one to the next scene. But that IHFAHFKnkndaiowerOHNAKF stuffed
animals(?) but it winced (i think?!) gets on my nerves whenever
it went across the screen. I am only showing you the screenshot of the
flowers. It's pretty, isn't it? But the animals.... it's freaky when
I'm so
into an emotional scene and suddenly the eye-crossed animals pops
across the
screen, giving me that look. I had to go wtf-ing. :P I don't know if I'll ever get used to it.
Overall, it's a fashion, romantic, touching series - definitely a shojo series.

bit bugs, i think. but enjoy :D
My Contemporary Film class are lecturing on anime films now. (yay!) We're going to watch Grave of Fireflies. I've seen it before- it's such a sad, good movie.
Took-Doohie!
Happy Halloween! I was an elf - won 100 bucks for best costume. (of course, i ran to buy mangas!)
